The Z1 runs 420 stainless steel conical burrs, CNC-machined to cut beans rather than crush them, aimed at a more uniform particle size than ceramic-burr grinders in the same price range. A dual-bearing shaft keeps the central shaft centered to prevent burr wobble, the main cause of uneven grinds in cheaper hand mills. The body is aviation-grade aluminum alloy with a textured matte grip, and the crank handle has a solid wood knob for a comfortable, high-torque turn. An internal click-adjustment dial covers everything from AeroPress and moka pot to cold brew. The ground catcher detaches, and the whole unit disassembles in seconds for cleaning.
